KO!

It is beyond me why ever the French thought about using "KO" to express the English "NOK"(Not OK).
I'm experiencing kernel panics after resuming the 311 after a long long long sleep - the whole night straight. When I use it again, BOOM, instant kernel panic within five minutes.
It's either the Broadcom4311injector kext that I'm using or my not booting in verbose mode, I'm still testing.
Eitherway, one thing's for sure. "KO"

quick question. i am fixing to hackintosh my new 311 mini within a week. as far as flashing the bios goes to be able to use the mini pcie slot what bios do you recommend? on your previous article you have the f14 linked but then in the comments you say you are using the f04 instead. i just wanted to verify which one you recommended overall and if you could post a link to that one. thanks much

Hey LeMaurien -

For what it's worth, I've been using your non-verbose bootup on my 311 for about a week and I've been resuming it without any kernel panics. I haven't rebooted it much during that time, but sleep-resume is working fine....

@DaJman

It's because F.14 is the current bios posted at the google project page - either it's what's supported or is just what is available for download at the moment.

I'm using F.04. Once I get my Apple AirPort, I'll be installing it on the full height extra pci slot and as such, if what I've heard is right, I won't be needing cracked F.14 when I upgrade my bios and the card would still work though it's not HP official part.

@Andrew

Thanks very much for the feedback! I really appreciate it - it narrows down my prob with the Broadcom4315injector.kext then. I guess I'll just have to live with it until I get my Apple AirPort card and thus won't be needing any injector kexts for WiFi...

thanks much for the response. does the f.04 bios still unlock the mini slot or just the f14?

also is there an any advantages to using the f14 over the f04? if not i will just flash it with the f04 since risking system instability is not worth it if nothing is gained by the new bios....

^Most people at the project thread report that F.14 work for them fine. However, I'm experiencing kernel panics and issues with my wifi and bluetooth cards setup so I stick with cracked F.04. Although, that may be due to my Mini 311's specs (311-1002TU w/ Atom N280 - most from the US have N270 chips).

well the one i ordered is pretty much the same as yours. i got the n280 so i could have the 1333 mhz ram option. i will go with the f04 just to be safe. id hate to have to flash it twice. also the wireless card i am upgrading it to is the dell 1510 so i can have wireless. i plan on following your posts to change it a apple card as well. the kernel panic you are having with your Broadcom4315injector.kext will it affect me in my setup? or is that something that you had added later? by the way thanks very much for all your posts and wealth of knowledge on the mini 311. i plan on donating since without your guides i would of been quite lost. much appreciated. keep up the great work.

Keep up the good work!

Amazing, after I wrote the last message. A popup told me that I have to restart my computer by pressing the on/off switch and then turn it on again.

Anyone experienced the same?
What can cause it and how to prevent from happening again?

^this is, unfortunately, not something I know the answer to.
Some say it's memory leaks - all those kexts and hacks and stuff coming together from all over the web...
